Its main attraction is the vast landscapes of wetland oak trees, but this is also one of the most biologically diverse preserves in all of Iowa. This spot can be a bit hard to find, and parking is sort of sketchy, but it is situated across from Gedney Lake in the former river basins of the mighty Cedar River. Some vehicle paths lead in and through the various dry areas but you are mostly on your own for exploring.
