I haven't been to the Raptor Center proper, but I like this parking lot because you can take off hiking in any direction and explore all day. There are nice trails that guide you all over. I often see people jogging out here, so the trails are pretty well defined. These hills border Lake Macbride to the North and the Iowa river to the South and West. In the fall these oak and maple trees turn gold & yellow and its one of my favorite autumn parks to visit. There is a huge sign off of Mehaffy Bridge Road at the entrance of this park.
