Hawkeye Wildlife Area - East Bridge - State Park

Since this park sprawls 13,500 acres, I will break it up into many separate entries. This easternmost spot is pretty reliably accessible, but you never know what it is going to look like out here. In the summer they mow some trails down to the water and if the water level is low enough, it can offer a beautiful walk along the beach with driftwood, cat tails and water logged ephemera. You can even venture to the east and explore under the bridges of highways 965 and 380 toward the Curtis Bridge boat docks. From Swan lake road, there are several parking and camping spots off of James that lead to some rougher looking timber, but at the end is a decent sized parking lot to take off from. If the path is too thick or if a road is washed out, there are several other areas to explore further to the west and north of this specific spot.
